Your NHHS School Counselors
Natalie Anderson
Students A-Gonzalez
While completing a Masters in School Counseling from Western Carolina University, I began my school counseling career at North Henderson in 1999. I have been working as a school counselor for 21 years in Henderson and Buncombe Counties and Charleston, SC. Being a native of WNC, I love living in the mountains, so I was happy to return to North Henderson in the fall of 2021.
My students at North have last names A-Gonzalez. As a school counselor, I am passionate about helping students grow and realize their potential. I love supporting them through academic, career and personal challenges and assisting them with problem solving strategies and resources. I enjoy collaborating with families, teachers and administration as a student advocate. Respecting each individual, I become aware of the particular strengths, vulnerabilities, interests, and goals of each student. My role is to help them achieve success in high school while preparing for their future as adults.

Students Goodman-Ortega
I am originally from Flintstone, Georgia. I moved to Western North Carolina in 1997 and I have worked as a school counselor at North Henderson since 2001. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University.
I work with students whose last names fall between Goodman and Ortega. I assist students in a variety of areas including academic advising, applying to college, applying for financial aid and scholarships and addressing student’s personal/social concerns.
As an advocate for my students, I try to help them make their high school experience both rewarding and challenging. I encourage my students to explore their interests, set goals, make informed decisions and advocate for themselves. These life skills will greatly assist students during their four years of high school and as they enter college, the military and the work force.

Students Ortiz-Z
Hello! Nice to meet you! My name is Ms. Wilson & I am excited to be a counselor at North Henderson! I earned my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology & Counselor Education from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2004. I work with students with the last names Ortiz - Z.
My husband and I are new to North Carolina. I am a Colorado Native and have lived in the mountains for most of my life. We recently moved from Victor, Idaho, a small mountain town in the Teton Mountains. Before that, I spent a couple of years working as a counselor at an International School on Tortola, an island in the British Virgin Islands. I love fly fishing, rowing my drift boat, skiing, sailing, meditation, and all things Yogi!
I believe students are inherently equipped with the tools they need to be successful. Our job is to help you realize this! As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "What lies behind you and what lies ahead of you pales in comparison to what lies within you."
